I’m always shocked by computer numbers: not by how big things are, but more by how small things used to be! For example, I’m looking at quotes for a new PC, I have to buy memory for Windows 7, and I’m looking at 4GB for that to run comfortably.

But it doesn’t seem that long ago that I was running a computer with less than 32mb for windows 98SE, and I thought that was powerful. Even this system has only 512MB of RAM, and my netbook 1GB. But I guess even in a few years, computers will have 4TB of RAM memory and the hard disks will be 500TB of space, not 500mb as they used to be!

How is it that we could squeeze so much into so little space!?
