Or why recycling your PC is important?

I remember my PCs very well: Here’s the list.

  1. Amstrad PCW 8256 with dot matrix/wordproc. incl. (sold)
  2. Twinhead Notebook 486HZ with 80MB of HDD, running Win 3.1. (scrapped)
  3. IBM Notebook similar vintage. (scrapped)
  4. First generation Pentium on loan from company with WIN95. (returned).
  5. First Pentium II with 128MB Ram running Win98SE.
  6. IBM Notebook R41 with 256MB and XP.
  7. Two Pentium 4 2.4GHz with 512MB RAM and XP SP3.
  8. Five Second Hand PCs.
  9. One recent PC at school.
  10. 3 Ebox PCs.
  11. One ACER Aspire Netbook.

That’s in 20 years. Though in my business we currently use 5 PCs everyday with one reserved, and two waiting to be scrapped. So we buy about one PC every two years. At home, though, I still have access to four. I don’t include other PCs I have used more than once… that would be dozens more, I fear.

How many did you buy and use?
