I was reminded by my wife that Mother’s day is coming soon in Taiwan. Next Sunday in fact. It’s difficult to buy things for Mother’s Day in Taiwan, giving presents isn’t something that people do much here. Even at more important times of the year, such as Chinese New Year or Moon Festival, most presents given are edible: cakes, cookies, wine, rice cake, expensive fish items (salmon, shellfish,…), etc.

But gift baskets aren’t so popular here, yet. But they make a lot of sense, esp. for the male shoppers amongst us. You can pick up a selection of luxury products, have them wrapped nicely, and you can have your shopping done quickly and effectively.
