I noted yesterday that British Airways new Terminal Five is open. Of course, I won’t be flying British Airways any time soon. Why? Because of their poor service. The news reported that British Airways was asking passengers not to bring baggage. How dumb is that?

Last time we went to the UK, we ended up in the middle of a wildcat strike that saw us having to stay an extra three days, one of which was at the airport. Though they let us change our carrier at the time, the strike was somewhat inconvenient as we had to ask staff to cover our classes.

At that time we didn’t buy travel insurance, in fact it’s been a long time since I did. But it would have been a good way to offset our additional costs of travel and hotel fees.

The upside was that we got to stay with our good friends just a little longer. And T5 will be a great terminal, one day.
