Whether it is or not, I’m about to find out. So far bought an Asus notepad at 7", so it is slightly smaller than the Ipad mini. But I already noticed that there are several ‘improvements’.

Bluetooth file sending/receiving (oh, boy, I missed that.)

I don’t use this feature that often, but the annoying restrictions on the Ipad meant that sending pictures via Bluetooth was impossible. I have B2 on my PCs, on my phone, and elsewhere, so not having this convenience was … well, inconvenient.

SD card (wow! who’d have thought).

I can finally carry files around between my pad and my pc or phone. Why on earth the ipad doesn’t do that without an external device is beyond me.

The Ios system does make something easier, but overall I’m enjoying the smaller size, lighter weight than my original Ipad. At 350g, it should fit in almost all my bags.

I was tempted to buy the phone version… but I still prefer keeping a phone and pad separate. With bluetooth, tethering & SD cards, this is really a no-brainer.

But is it goodbye Ipad/Ios? We’ll see….
