Of coure, I forgot my first cardinal rule in Taiwan. Whenever you go shopping or eat out, never ever buy the most expensive or the cheapest items on the menu/in the store. It’s never been worth it. Ever.
My second cardinal rule for eating in Taiwan. Choose the food that is closest to the restaurant’s core competence. Don’t for example choose sushi in a German restaurant or a sandwich in a Taiwanese style restaurant. Won’t be good. Can’t be good.
The last rule: if it’s good, enjoy it today. Many restaurants can’t reproduce the same product consistently. That’s a fact. Things change, chefs change, recipes change…! Who knows why? If you really enjoyed it, enjoy it for what it Is now.
