The sad irony of yet another church claiming to be the one true church… is always lost on its adherents. I’m glad they found their ‘salvation’, but please keep away from me!
Taiwan has so many weird cults… I think I should have started my own church: “Coffee, Cake & Christmas.” The only tenet: you must drink coffee, eat cake & enjoy a holiday on Christmas Day. You need only be a member for 1 day. There are no dues, no tithes… just a promise to share coffee & cake on Christmas!
The list of churches that claim salvation through them is long. Their adherents convictions are also strong, but contradictory.
It’s not unique to Christianity, either. China has had a fair share of weird church-type religions. Yiguandao is one that I read about.
Of course, when new continents and countries open up to mission: every church is out to get new adherents. In Zhuwei, the LDS are active now, there are eight churches within a stone’s throw of our house. So it’s open field.
LOL! You are even more ‘blessed’ in Tamsui proper. Dozens of churches, literally. Google keeps revealing more and more
