Fujifilm FinePix S3300 – full specs, details and review (productindetail.com)

I wouldn’t rate it more than kiddie’s advanced camera. You’ll enjoy it for sure! I had a FinePix SL260 for a few years or longer. In fact, I probably spent too long using it. It lacked mWell, I had one for a couple of years or longer. In fact, I probably spent too long using it. It lacked more ‘pro’ features such as ability to do full manual mode or RAW images. But I enjoyed using it. Here’s what I learned from it:

  • 1. Get an extra battery or 2.
  • 2. Get a decent SD card or 3.
  • 3. You’re only shooting jpgs so editing choices will be more limited as the jpgs lose all the extra data of RAW format
  • 4. It’s not water-resistant… even in damp environments or steamy ones. Mind gave up its ghost when I took it through a temple that was using a mister in the summer – it didn’t like that, and died shortly after that.
  • 5. Stick to the optical zoom (better quality)
  • 6. The manual indicates that it has manual mode, mine did, too. But it was anything but Full Manual. The modes were strictly limited by your choices.

You’ll enjoy it… you’ll learn from it. It will probably do better shots than a phone camera. But if you decide you like photography, and you find out what you like shooting, go for a full-frame with interchangeable lenses (even if it’s 2nd hand… you’ll get great deals now), then regift it to someone else who aspires to photography.
