One of the things that bothers me in our community is the scrooge like behavior that’s taken hold off in the wake of the last economic downturn. While it’s a good thing when uncertainty abounds to know what you can cut out, our community has taken to turning off the lights in the parking garage: fools.
Why? Because it’s actually quite dangerous: we used to have 8 tubes where there is now just one! Which makes it very difficult to see if you come out of the bright sunshine, wear julbo sunglasses to protect your eyes, and have tints on your car windows. It’s like driving at 20km/h into the dark fog.
So I told the community boss that this was an issue in our sector of the garage. But to no avail. I usually now turn on my own lights to make the driving lane a little easier! But. WTF. they’re too scrooge like to paint the parking lot in white or brighter colors, they don’t want to pay for the electricity, so. my guess. they’ll be paying compensation when someone is hit by a car driven by a driver who happens to fault the lack of lighting.
