It’s been a while since I updated the diet blog side of things. But I did weigh myself today, and I noted that I had some success already in following my own five step foundation to good dieting.
1. Drink more water: drink 1 liter of water a day.
I think I have been drinking nearly as much as that on many days, though not every day.
2. Cut out the soft drinks and snack food.
I’ve certainly cut down the junk food but I have not eliminated everything from this category yet. Soda is still a HUGE problem.
These two alone probably could eliminate a sizeable portion of my calorie intake! Truth be told!
3. Don’t eat carbs at or after dinner.
Not making any progress on this front at all. I think this will come later, though.
4. Eat dinner before 10pm.
We’re trying to eat dinner before 10pm, and in fact, having a more filling lunch allowed me to eat less and earlier than usual. Some progress.
5. Walk everyday (no matter how far).
In the past week, I’ve managed to go out for walks on more than four days, sometimes even adding extra walks. Not sure of the distance exactly, but I would guess that it’s in excess of 20kms additional walking.
Total score so far: Improving and success on two fronts, some forward movement on two other areas, and no movement on the #3 area at all. Overall, a much better diet report than before.
Stats: 102.4kg. (lost about 1.3kgs – not significant yet). Phase 2 is still some time away.
