This kind of story is quite inspiring. I’m 87.4kgs at the moment, or 13.8 stone. I never got as heavy as he did, thank god but it could so easily have been that way!
I also started walking, and now biking. Last weight count indicated that I had dropped from 105.9kg to 87.4kg. It’s not quite 20kgs. I plan on celebrating when both the average weight and total weight losses reach 20kgs.
Today is a celebration day, though. My SIL is celebrating her 60th. That means a buffet dinner… should I try to eat carefully? Well, we’ll see!
The selected text is a personal account of a man’s journey from obesity to fitness. He had gradually gained weight over the years, ignoring his increasing size and declining health. In 2017, he experienced a health scare that he initially thought was a heart attack, but turned out to be a trapped nerve.
This incident was a wake-up call for him, leading to a complete transformation in his lifestyle. He began walking regularly, which played a significant role in his weight loss. Today, he has lost over five stone (35kgs) and leads an active, healthy life1. His story emphasizes the importance of regular exercise and a balanced diet in maintaining good health. (Summary by AI).
Now that I’m exercising 15 hours a week typically, several weeks, I’m beginning to envisage reaching my next waypoint of 83.5kgs. Questions about jogging, cardio and weights are beginning to filter through my head. My weight should be sufficiently low to avoid damaging my no longer young knees; my heart rate should sustain a regular output; but the only concern is a slight accident-related disability in my left arm that could limit how much weights I can do.
The waypoints are 83.5kgs, 80kgs, 77kgs and perhaps the final 74.5kgs. I’ve yet to discuss this with my physician, and I suspect the answer is open-ended. BMI suggests anything under 75kgs is ‘normal’ range, while 65.5kgs is mid-range of normal. I think that represents a stretch goal.
However, BMI is not the only way to calculate ideal weight… so I guess a variety of answers exists…
