Another slow 2.2K: 3 days of no exercise, plus muddy roads and water everywhere = slower runs. Heart rate was elevated though. Not 110 as usual. More like 120. Mmm.

I also managed to avoid someone begging for money, who somehow shouts ‘armani’ at me as if that will magically open my wallet. I pretended to ignore them as if I had no idea they were talking to me and rode away on a bike!

This person hangs out with the old fellas at the park. I’m pretty sure they’re goading them on to ask for money for ciggies and booze! I never carry a wallet when I run, so they’ll get zip from me. Good luck on that one! Plus they’ve not got a good memory: I didn’t give them anything when they asked before about 5 months ago.

I sometimes sit and enjoy a quiet diet coke in the cool air using maybe a few dollars from an easycard. They’ll sidle upto me and stand there asking for money in garbled English. Such requests I ignore because they ALWAYS bring more trouble than it’s worth.

If I give them $5, they’ll ask for $20. So I give them $20, and they’ll ask for $100. And so it goes. Begging for $ for ciggies/booze is a no-no for me: I don’t buy them for myself, and I ain’t gonna help someone with addiction problems buy them for themselves.

I don’t blame beggars, I really don’t, they have a miserable existence, so food, sure! Water, sure! But not booze or ciggies or drugs. If you need these, you’re not desperate. You’ve got a habit you need to kick. I ain’t gonna support it, esp. if you’re sitting there smoking and/or drinking. And I sure as heck ain’t gonna encourage you to do keep begging by making you think it works.
