Every three or four minutes, there’s a new platform. Messaging is similar: Skype, Whatsapp, Apple FT, LINE, Viber, Signal, Discord, Twitch, … Friends tend to get scattered across different networks, so it’s harder to keep in touch, these days. FB keeps trying to shove AI at us, too.
I think many users are now jaded by the whole SM phenomenon. They’re only building connections with immediate family, friends, coworkers and other people they want or need to keep in touch with. FB has otherwise become quite ‘superfacial’ as well as super facile.
