I spent the first days this week consuming a lot of carbs. I think it must be that the weather is colder, I’m also sleeping a lot more, and not being regular enough in exercise after finishing last week’s 4K in 40m. Carbs increase water retention somewhat, and I haven’t been a good little soldier this week.

Honestly, I feel the 4K took quite a bit out of me. I probably should’ve rested on Sunday instead of adding another 30K on the bike. As if I’m a bi-athlete!!

The beginning of winter is always beset by random eating, feeling cold, sleeping a lot… and catching flu. I’ve gotta get out of that pattern, and resolve myself to at least meet one more goal this year. I don’t think I can get to 80kgs by winter. But I think I can achieve 83kgs as a stable goal. That seems doable given the other challenges in my life. In my experience, it’s probably harder to maintain a weight over a longer time than to lose it initially.
