a wooden table topped with a notebook and a cup of coffee

No answers? Ok. I connected cables to my phone and plugged in my wife’s powerbank via USB-C to USB-C. I thought it would charge just like my old USB cable did. Instead… it stole my phone’s power.

Solutions I’ve tried….

I couldn’t see any settings for that. I tried different cables, too. Same result. … so I’m puzzled. How can I choose which device gets charged?

But…

Copilot Wrote: It sounds like your phone is acting as a power source for your wife’s powerbank instead of charging itself. This can happen if the powerbank is drawing power from your phone instead of the other way around.

Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this issue:

Check Powerbank Settings: Some powerbanks have settings that allow you to switch between charging and discharging modes. Make sure your powerbank is set to charge your phone, not the other way around.

Use a Different USB-C Cable: Although you’ve tried different cables, it’s worth ensuring that the cables you’re using are high-quality and support USB Power Delivery (PD). This can help ensure proper power flow.

Update Phone Software: Sometimes, software updates can fix issues related to power management. Make sure your phone’s operating system is up to date.

Powerbank Compatibility: Ensure that your powerbank is compatible with your phone. Some powerbanks may not work well with certain devices.

Try a Different Powerbank: If possible, test your phone with a different powerbank to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is with the powerbank or your phone.

The mystery is very mysterious.
