Well, I made a mistake. One of my mini SD cards died in the car so I swapped it for another that I used to use for my camera. I’d already used another one for the wife’s phone which died. No spares.
Big mistake. I’d backed up many images… but not all so when I reformatted the card. Boom! All gone. I didn’t notice till today that some images were missing. Worse… others got uploaded to Photos in Google format not RAW, so they’re compressed af. I don’t have the originals.
I have a much more organized system for standard cards… but the same flaw: if you don’t copy your cards at the end of the day and recycle them… that is the result you’ll get. It’s not a major disaster… but just a salutary reminder.
