I’m giving up non-breakfast carbs as much as I can reasonably for 90 days.
This means:
- no bread (after 12pm)
- no rice or noodles
- no cookies or cake
- no ice cream or chocolate
- no sugary products (except if necessary)
I’ll probably ease into this, but it’s going to be hard. I will replace some carbs with fruit, others with liquids or smoothies, others with more vegetables. I may even resort to peanut butter to avoid hunger. This isn’t a zero-carb diet by any means. But it’s a carb-restricted diet for sure. However, nuts, legumes, peanuts, etc are all fair game, too.
Do you honestly think I can do it? In fact, that is me setting three goals: keep food within 8~9 hour window, run a 4K in November and cut carbs to lose 5kgs!
I reckon if I can burn about 2400 calories a day, while restraining calorie input to about 1800… I should be able to lose about that amount of weight. The math supports me!
Now I’m going all in on the challenge to lose 5kgs before 12/31, so these are my initial plans. I will also probably need coaching, joining an exercise club to help me, and acupuncture if things aren’t going too well.
Once I reach 78~79kgs I will endeavor to stabilize the weight for about 5 or 6 months to 79~81kgs. This is a crucial step in the program to balance the body weight and teach the body to accept the new weight as what it should be. Otherwise weight will just climb back on.
There is also the risk I might overshoot. But let’s not worry about that. It didn’t happen before.
