Eh, not much.

This past week has been a bit disappointing on all fronts. Who said weight loss is easy? Was that me?

This week it’s been anything but easy. I managed to decrease from 84.43kgs on average to 84.26kgs but I haven’t been as assiduous on the exercise front: just 12.3 hours. It’s enough to get some weight loss but not enough, given the added calories the past few days.

Well, the previous plan started off in similar fashion, lacklustre so much that I abandoned it after just losing 1/2kg. While this isn’t as terrible, I’m still facing lethargy… despite being that much closer to 80.0kg (my 2024 target). I’m thinking of scrubbing this effort, and going back to what was successful before.

Truthfully, running a 4K has created its own stress. I thought it would be a nice adjunct but it’s made me more nervous, less focused on weight loss, and as a result less effective doing something that I was doing okay at, while supremely failing at running anything like 1K never mind 4K. Like a spinning top, I’ve been knocked off balance. A result I did not expect.

No worries. Drop what doesn’t work, double down on what does. What works:

A regular walk/bike/uphill schedule and careful diet eating before 9pm. That works.

I will try to start running but just 200m or so per day, it won’t be that much; and I’ll probably join a gym to help with improving all around fitness. Incremental success may be easier!

In fact, the last few days I’ve been eating a lot more and resting up. I don’t think it’s accidental but energy levels have returned, so there must be a rational for it. Friday, Indian Curry at Calcutta’s in Ximending, Saturday Lunch at Churchill’s, Dinner at the Vietnamese in Tamsui MRT.
