The basic rule of thumb is that the time to make a good impression on customers is when they first come in. It’s the job of the waiter to explain the menu, tell you the specials, and make you feel that coming to a particular restaurant is the right choice, not to help the waiter do their job. As a customer, being courteous is of course ESSENTIAL. I ain’t no karen.
So a 10% service charge for ordering via a QR code? Why? For bringing food to the table? I hope that the 10% covers more than just that! Oh, it seems to, it’s an ART Cafe. I hadn’t realized that… so perhaps I’ll forgive the 10% service charge. The cafe seems to style itself as a venue for arts performances.

Will I go back? Perhaps. Will I go out of my way to have coffee there? Perhaps not. There are dozens of coffee shops in the area that offer better service, better food and better prices. Sometimes, they even offer all three AT THE SAME TIME. (Hint: Dreamers Coffee) But they don’t offer ART! Mmm. Makes you think!
