Between the devil and the deep blue, I guess. Lots of people here go veggie for ‘health’ reasons, cut down on protein, too.

But they don’t realize that veggie meats are often unhealthy, loaded with salt and saturated fats/transfats/etc… that they are much worse for health than their meat counterpart. So heart attack/stroke is quite high among veggie eaters here in Taiwan.

Trying to be too much a ‘meat’ burger. My friend explained it in Taiwan, many veggies are veggie because of religion. Nothing else. They don’t want to give up meat but have to. So veggie food here is often sought out to replace meat. They’re not looking for s’th new. They’re looking for ‘meat’.
