Wow! Bunch of Tourists on Bikes nearly mowed me down! Not a single bell on their bike, not an iota of understanding about local cycling rules and conventions, no awareness of the notion that cycle tracks are often pedestrian priority (or at least the one near us is), no awareness of keeping distance from pedestrians… and I thought I was an amateur cyclist! LOL!
Mind you, I wondered why they were riding so close together. They also had panniers … perhaps they were riding around Taiwan. It is a thing, esp. now the weather is more conducive! So I shouted in Chinese: “You need to give way to pedestrians!”… I heard one of the cyclists wondering aloud: “Wrong way?” LOL!!!!
Ah, it was funny! Fortunately, no one was hurt. But CYCLISTS!!! On dual purpose paths, YOU MUST GIVE WAY TO PEDESTRIANS and/or LEAVE PLENTY OF SPACE AROUND THEM!
And for GOD’s SAKE, get a fucking bell and use it gently to warn people you’re coming behind them, not to shove them out of the way! This is basic road user courtesy.
