I keep getting jobs in various industries because some idiot in the US apparently doesn’t realize that my email address isn’t his. This is the latest one. So I had to change his address to the Whitehouse, and his phone number (I usually do this, if I can’t change the email address or delete the account entirely).
Apparently he now lives at the Whitehouse. I don’t know if Joe knows.
Incidentally, I also get credit scores, hotel reservations, car rentals, etc, etc. I can spot these in my email junk folder. They’re not junk spam. But they keep coming. And sometimes it takes a lot of effort to convince the companies that I’m not them.
One even wanted me to prove who I was by faxing my ID documents to them so they could be sure I wasn’t who I said I wasn’t. Go figure! Of course, that fax would’ve been OMDB!
I typically create a new account email address, validate the address, and then ‘throw’ the email away. It’s unrecoverable by me or anyone, so hopefully they won’t be other me again.
