Sports food supplements under the careful scrutiny of a professional athlete can be hard to find. The athlete that spends more than 600 calories during an event, for normal performance, needs the appropriate amount of food, hydration and rest; but what if said athlete wants more than just normal performance?
The addition of certain sports food supplements can create optimal performance for the athlete, combined with a nutritious and balanced diet along with a strong work out regiment. The advantages are basically endless with this combination, keeping the whole regimen going would be the only thing stopping an athlete.
The results from the supplements you take will help with the will power. When choosing your supplements to gain body mass, and looking to gain stamina and power, the main thing to look for is protein with some creatine in the mix.
A solid pre-work out supplement would be needed, you want to look for something that will enhance your energy level and keep your focus. An energy drink is not the answer, a staple for pre work out drinks is L-Arginine or Amino Acids both of these will increase your energy output and keep you finishing that last rep. During my workout, I like to take an Amino Acid powder with plenty of water as staying hydrated is key during intense workouts.
The results you want will not show up unless you have a proper post work out regimen as well. After an extremely long or intense workout I recommend either a protein or glutamine drink or shake. This will help build your muscles and help with recovery to get back to training quicker and over time your post workout supplement will help increase your muscle mass.
Having a simple 3 step food supplement addition, pre-workout, during workout, post-workout, will help you reach your goals as they did for me. Keep yourself hydrated as this will also help with the absorption of the all the supplements you take, provide yourself with the appropriate amount of rest and nutrition and you will be getting the results you are looking for. Happy Lifting!
