The wife is hinting that if we get a new TV, we can put it on the wall with tv mounting brackets! I quite like the 10-year old one, a 29-inch Philips TV with a traditional CRT display. It renders standard cable TV in fine detail. But the problem with the new TVs is that the traditional cable signals are often poor quality, meaning you have a fancy new TV with crappy pictures. Why bother?

Well, now that our Chunghwa MODtv has over 70 HD channels, this is far less of a problem than it used to be. And yet we still haven’t changed! Pity. But I don’t want to add a working TV to Taiwan’s landfill just yet. Seems wasteful.
