Thanks to my internet friend, Wyrd, for answering this question: What is a turnbuckle? I know what a buckle is …
This is Wyrd, here to tell you about turnbuckles. Simply put, it is a device used to change the tensions or lengths of cables, tie rods, ropes, etc. For example, they are used on the corners of wrestling rings to tense the ropes.
A turnbuckle has two threaded eyelets, a hook and a hole, which are held in a frame. The rope, cable or tie rod is attached to one end, the other end is secured, and the attached rope can be tightened or made more or less tense by turning the frame in which the eyelets rest. It’s as simple as that!
Now, for a little fun, and frivolous, use of turnbuckles for your Remote Control Vehicle! Hah!
