Well, it’s an accident waiting to happen. And it will. Kids run, push, trip, etc. all the time, and they are seldom aware of their own safety. It’s hard to stop them having accidents like this when they are playing, but…

So when I asked about a solution to this, I was informed that a swimming pool net would save a lot of trouble. Thanks, Janice.

I chose a flat safety net that is installed directly into the concrete around my pool and is removable with a ratchet-like device. We selected this because we have a wonderful view out across the pool and didn’t want to obscure it with a tall safety fence. Also because I was fearful that my child and dogs would figure out how to get in a safety gate.

Our net was made by Allsafe. It is about 7 years old now and I noticed this week that there is damage to one of the fittings. Otherwise it’s been a fantastic solution for us but is difficult to remove so we don’t use the pool as often as we could because of the time it takes to remove it.

One thing to mention, we had a difficult time finding a pool service that was willing to service our pool because of the pool nets.
