If you are a blogger, then there is a good chance that you are tied to a tablet, laptop, or smartphone at all times. We love our iPads and our Samsung Galaxy S phones as they help catalog our inspiration and blog post ideas whenever they come to us – making blogging later easier.
However, in addition to these gadgets, there are a few extra tools every blogger should have to make their blogging life easier, more portable, and more mobile:
1. A Portable Keyboard
Getting a fold up, portable keyboard is one of the greatest purchases any blogger with a tablet could make. Typing directly on a tablet is by no means easy, but with one of these fold up keyboards, you can write up posts quickly without having to tote your laptop around and find a Wi-Fi connection.
Most keyboards will plug into a smartphone too, and they conveniently fold up to fit into a purse or backpack pocket. Even better, get a wireless BlueTooth keyboard, and that means one less cable to carry!
2. Apps, Apps, Apps
If you have a smartphone, then you need to have all the best apps that make storing information easy and typing up blog posts on the fly a possibility.
Both Evernote and Dropbox are great for storing post ideas, carrying your files on the go, and making connection to your PC hassle-free. With these apps you can store links, photos, and files that you would like to use later, or just photos that may pique your interest and get your creative buzz going.
Blogger or WordPress Apps are also must-haves for anyone interested in blogging on-the-go. If you need to post but can’t reach a computer, Blogger and WordPress apps allow you to write up and post to your blog in a matter of minutes. Instagram and other photo sharing apps are good too, when you want to change up content on your site.
3. Social Media
While nearly everyone has a social media account, for bloggers, having a Facebook and Twitter accounts are almost as valuable as having your blogsite itself. Social media sites offer a great way to spread your content, build links, and to further connect with your readership which will only make your blog stronger.
There are also great social media sites that focus on particular media: Youtube for movies, Flickr for pictures, and even Tumblr for a light blog on a mobile platform.
Daily blog posting can be challenging – especially if you have a life outside of your computer. Nowadays there are plenty of great gadgets and apps that can make blogging easier and more convenient, so that you can continue to blog daily without neglecting your ‘real life’. Now where is my pencil…?
