Taipei allocates NT$20,000 at birth, provided that the following requirements are met: at least one of the newborn’s parents has household registration in Taipei, has lived in the city for over a year by the time his or her baby is born, and the birth registration for the newborn has been completed at a Civil Administration Office in the city.《full text》

You or your Taiwanese spouse can register the birth of your newborn, personally or through an agent, at the local Civil Administration Office of the area where your spouse lives. The following documents will be required: the household registration document of your Taiwanese spouse, the ID of the person registering the birth and the newborn’s birth certificate.
