I don’t know if you’ve heard, but a whole busload of Chinese tourists went missing in Taiwan recently when the road they were traveling on was swept away by torrential rains. Poor souls! My heart goes out to their families.
But it seems this summer, we’re all needing to buy kamik rain boots because though typhoons are common, the rains this year have been quite heavy despite the typhoons not actually landing on the island.
The latest typhoon is also expected to dust the island, probably on the same parts of the coast as last time. So, while I typically recommend coming to Taiwan in the fall season, it does coincide with more typhoons than earlier summer. So you could get more than you bargained for.
