Sometimes living in a community like ours has advantages: the security systems, the clean courtyard, the friendly neighbors, early access to decent broadband, etc.
But there are times when you really need some kind of natural sleep aids to help bring sleep: when the neighbor upstairs fights (occasionally), when the next door neighbors refurbish their apartment, when the neighbors do their exercise routine early in the morning!
I still kind of long for a real house, or at least the semblance of a house, where we have no neighbors upstairs or down, where we have space and a garden, and we can see the sky. That is a little luxury that I just can’t have right now. Perhaps one day, but in one of the most crowded cities in the world, land space is frighteningly expensive for this kind of maisonette.
Maybe one day.
