Taiwanese are to be given new vouchers worth about NT$3600 (or about US$200) by the government to encourage them to go out shopping. It seems the government is keen to get everyone here shopping again.

According to the Premier, people will be able to buy anything with consumer vouchers the government will issue next Jan. 19 as a Chinese New Year bonus. (ChinaPost Story)

It’s unlikely that longterm residents like myself will be given one! More’s the pity. It would be a nice extra bonus for Chinese New Year!
