British buses are quite unusual: from the traditional double deckers that have ploughed the roads of London since the 50’s Routemasters. Even in my ‘hometown’ of Edinburgh, Routemasters are still operating even now.

But every now and then the bus companies restock their aging fleets and the bus for sale sign goes up. Soon the bus company parts with their history. Meanwhile tourists still have fond memories and still crave those old darlings!

So if you see a Routemaster for sale, consider buying it! It’s becoming increasingly scarce. You may even see one in China, Australia or elsewhere that was rescued in a similar manner from the recycling factory! If you do, admire it a little! These buses are loved all over the world, just like our old phone boxes and mailboxes were.
