Over Chinese New Year, a rare spectacle took place in Taiwan. Over 700 visitors on a cruise from Hong Kong visited Kaohsiung in mid-February. It seems that Taiwan’s receiving a lot more cruises from Hong Kong these days, as Hong Kong’s Star Cruises reopened in 2007. In fact, in 2007 there nearly half a million cruise arrivals. Tourism is really picking up here in general, as arrivals are jumping and that’s even before mass tourism from China starts.
