I found this great service for creating pdfs. I’m just testing it out. I don’t have Acrobat, just a few utitilites like PDFCreator, and I used to use Jaws for a while. Jaws seemed to be much more stable than any other except pdf995. But I had nightmare problems with article incompatibilities between versions of Word, and I initially thought they were caused by problems with the PDF programs. Turns out Word 97 (Yes, I’m still using that) is in some minor respects incompatible with later versions of Word.

In the meantime, I wish I had found this website: Express PDF Service.

Express PDF is offering a web service where you can enter a URL or upload a .doc or .xls file. They in turn will e-mail your PDF back to you. This could come in handy if you find yourself using a computer that doesn’t have native PDF conversion support.
